This was a project for my Lighting I class, for which we had about 3 work weeks to light and comp the model onto a backplate of our choice. For the backplate, after searching the internet I stumbled upon this backplate which I felt would help me create happy and fantasy driven environment for the Octodog. this backplate had interesting lighting source which I depicted in my color key to plan the lighting setup. With this assignment, we focussed on hero character lighting and got introduced rendering out AOVs for render passes. For this project, I had rendered out a diffuse, specular, subsurface scatter, crypto passes as well as an ambient occlusion and a shadow pass. I finally composited these passes and made changes in Nuke.
